AB - This work presents comparative analysis of energy consumption in copper production by 'standard' treatment (roasting in fluo-solid reactor and melting in reverberatory furnace) in Melting Plant in Bor with modern autogenous procedures. All forms of expended energy are reduced to primary energy or to the same energy form, i.e. to energy equivalent of process (EEP), raw material and process material, and also, energy equivalent of process and waste products (water vapour, thermal energy and similar) are balanced. To complete all energy generating products consumption in copper production, they are reduced to conditional fuel (coal equivalent=29,3 MJ/kg). It can be concluded that energy cost has large participation in the total costs, and efficient and competition of the process could be improved with reduction of that costs.
AB - Ovaj rad predstavlja uporednu analizu potrošnje energije u proizvodnji bakra 'standardnim' postupkom (prženje u fluosolid reaktoru i topljenje u plamenoj peći) u topionici bakra u Boru sa savremenim autogenim postupcima topljenja.

AB - The precipitation behavior of W-rich phase on the specific matrix locations of
Co-free and Co-containing 92.5W-5Ni-2.5Fe heavy alloys is investigated during
aging of the as-quenched samples. The aging treatment is performed between 600
°C (873 K) and 800 °C (1073 K) and for aging time up to 9 hours. The average
chemical composition of tungsten heavy alloys was determined by using the atomic
absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) and the Leco apparatus. The Energy
Dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis was employed to analyze the chemistry of the
existing phases. The changes in structure as a function of aging time and
temperature have been examined by using the light microscopy (LM) and the
scaning electron microscopy (SEM). The macro- and micro-hardness
measurements were performed, as well. The local changes in matrix structure and
various morphologies of the precipitates are observed. The aging has caused only
a minor changes of the micro-hardness of the existing phases (γ and W-rich) as
well as the macro-hardness of the investigated alloys. In the case of the Co-free
92.5W-5Ni-2.5Fe heavy alloy, at lower temperatures and for shorter time of aging,
there is a dominant presence of lamellar and Widmanstätten morphology of W-rich
precipitates within the γ-matrix grains. At higher temperatures and for longer time,
there is a significant precipitation of W-rich precipitates at the matrix grain
boundaries (γ/γ). In the case of 92.5W-5Ni-2.5Fe heavy alloy micro-alloyed with
Co, it is dominant precipitation of W-rich phase at the matrix grain boundaries (γ/γ),
especially at higher aging temperatures and for longer aging time.

AB - This work deals with effects of hot plastic deformation process and subsequent heat treatment on structure and mechanical properties of centrifugally cast (CC) high strength CrMoNb steel tubes. Plate samples, taken from CC tubes, were homogenized and subsequently hot rolled. One serie of samples was soft-annealed (SA) and other series oil-quenched and tempered (QT) between 373-923 K. Primary and secondary structures, non-metallic inclusions in radial direction and prior austenite grain size were analyzed using bright-field and polarized light microsopy. Experimental mechanical properties of SA and QT samples were modeled by means of polynomial functions and correlated with structure properties.

AB - The sensitization degree of austenitic stainless steel welded joints was investigated by electrochemical methods of the double loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (DL EPR) in H(2)SO(4) + KSCN solution, and by the measurement of corrosion potential of the steel in the drop of the solution of HNO(3) + FeCl(3) + HCl. The welded joints were tested by X-ray radiographic method in order to check the presence of the weld defects. The grain sizes of the base metal and the welded joints were determined by optical microscopy. Good agreement between the results obtained by different electrochemical methods was obtained. The heat-affected zone (HAZ) of the austenitic stainless steel welded joints has shown a significant degree of sensitization. The double loop electrochemical potentiokinetic method gave quantitative evidence about the susceptibility of stainless steel to intergranular corrosion.

AB - Investigation and analysis of the phenomena during rotational friction welding process of the high speed steel M2 (AISI SAE) with quench and tempered carbon steel 1060 (AISI SAE) are presented. Welding parameters as time and friction pressure are varied in experiments. Also different post weld heat treatment (PWHT) regimes, as annealing and quenching are applied. Distribution of the carbon and carbide phases in period of friction during the process of rotation friction welding process and after PWHT and effects on weld quality are analysed. Investigations are performed by the classical and quantitative optical microscopy. Displacement and distribution of carbides in the high speed steel during friction period in viscous layer, than in friction plane and surrounding zones are studied. Results of the quantitative optical microscopy are showed distinct difference of the carbide phase ratio in investigated zones. Obtained results are verified by the EDS analysis of characteristic zones close to the friction plane. Results of the SEM analysis are shown difference in the carbide phase quantity close to the friction plane as a result of the metal flow in viscous layer and in the viscous - plastic zones, with presence of hard carbide particles, and also of the carbide phase dissolution. Beside optical microscopy investigations, effects of the welding parameters and PWHT on carbon and carbide distribution are analysed by the measuring of the micro hardness and mechanical properties which are tested in friction plane. Obtained results have shown direct dependence between welding parameters and applied PWHT on the properties and quality of the friction welded joints.
