AB  - Production of high-performance nanocomposite materials obtained from unsaturated polyester resin, based on products of the waste poly(ethylene terephthalate) recycling, and modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes is presented. Di-hydroxy functional glycolysates, synthesized by catalytic depolymerization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) with propylene glycol, were used for the unsaturated polyester resin synthesis. The structure of the obtained glycolysis product and unsaturated polyester resin were characterized by using FTIR and NMR spectroscopy, and by acid, iodine, and hydroxyl value. Nanofillers were prepared by direct and two-step amidation of oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Direct amidation with diallylamine produced multi-walled carbon nanotube-diallylamine reactive nanofiller. Two-step modification with diamines: hexamethylenediamine and p-phenylenediamine gave multi-walled carbon nanotubehexamethylenediamine and multi-walled carbon nanotube-p-phenylenediamine nanofiller, respectively, whose amidation with methyl ester of linseed oil fatty acids gave multi-walled carbon nanotube-hexamethylenediamine/methyl ester of linseed oil fatty acid and multi-walled carbon nanotube-p-phenylenediamine/methyl ester of linseed oil fatty acid nanofiller, respectively. Influences of vinyl functionalities on mechanical properties of nanocomposite were analyzed from tensile strength (sigma(b)), elongation (epsilon(b)) and Young's modulus (E) determination. An increase of 97.4, 119 and 139% of sigma(b) was obtained for nanocomposites with addition of 0.25 wt.% of diallylamine, p-phenylenediamine/methyl ester of linseed oil fatty acid and hexamethylenediamine/methyl ester of linseed oil fatty acid multi-walled carbon nanotubes, respectively. Short techno-economic analysis, performed on the basis of fixed and variable unsaturated polyester resin production costs, showed satisfactory potential profit, which could be realized by the implementation of the presented technology.

Influence of acidic solutions on the strain distribution in glasspolyester composite pipes subjected to internal pressure

AB  - The basic subject of this paper was the determination of the strain distribution in glass-polyester composite pipes subjected to internal pressure. Firstly, the test was performed on virgin pipe segments (without the influence of acidic solution) to determine the original properties of the examined composite pipes. Subsequently, the pipes were subjected to the influence of 25% acidic solution. Phosphoric and nitric acid were chosen, because of their frequent use in chemical industry, either as reactants or as products. The pipes were made by 'filament winding' method, with the angles of the glass fibers reinforcement [90°]2[±55°]4[90°]4. The tests were performed by subjecting the polymer composite pipes to internal pressure; the strain values were determined by strain gages in three directions: 0°, 90° and ± 45° with respect to the pipe axis. The tests were performed until the leakage occurred, up to the pressure value of approximately 100 bar, i.e. until the occurrence of the first cracks. Also, the micromechanical analysis on fracture surfaces was done by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), which provided the knowledge about models and mechanisms of fracture due to the applied loading.
AB  - Cilj ovog rada je određivanje raspodele deformacija kod staklo-poliestar kompozitnih cevi koje su istaložene dejstvu unutrašnjeg pritiska. Prethodno su izvršena ispitivanja na netretiranim cevima u cilju određivanja originalnih svojstava. Zatim su cevi tretirane 25%-im rastvorom kiselina. Upotrebljene su fosforna i azotna kiselina zbog njihove česte upotrebe u hemijskoj industriji. Cevi su izrađene metodom namotavanja ('filament winding'), pri čemu su uglovi namotavanja staklenih vlakana [90 ]2[±55°]4[90°]4. Vrednosti deformacija usled delovanja unutrašnjeg pritiska su registrovane mernim trakama postavljenim u tri pravca: 0°, 90° i ± 45° u odnosu na osu cevi. Ispitivanja su izvođena do pojave procurivanja pri vrednosti pritiska od 100 bar, tj. do pojave prvih prslina. Prikazana je i mikromehanička analiza izvedena na prelomnim površinama pomoću skenirajućeg elektronskog mikroskopa (SEM) čime su dobijena saznanja o modelima i mehanizmima loma usled dejstva primenjenog opterećenja.

AB  - Synthesis of high-performance anticorrosive coatings obtained from alkyd resins (ARs) based on waste poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) glycolyzates is presented. PET glycolyzates, synthesized by catalytic depolymerization with trimethylolpropane (TMP) and dipropylene glycol (DPG), were used as replacement of part of the polyhydroxylic component during the ARs synthesis. The obtained glycolyzates and ARs were analyzed using FT-IR and 1HNMR spectroscopy and acid, iodine, and hydroxyl value were determined. Thickness, adhesion, swelling, corrosion, spraying and layering of the synthesized ARs, as well as alkyd coating film were determined in accordance with SRPS EN ISO standards. ARs were produced in high yields and FT-IR and 1NMR analysis results confirmed assumed structures. All synthesized ARs show good elasticity, flexibility, adhesion and the gloss values are greater than 85 %, and the alkyd coating films based on AR1 and AR3 showed best corrosion results. The most effective dryer catalyst combination was 0.5 wt.% Ca, 0.03 wt.%, Co and 0.45 wt.% Zr.
AB  - U radu je prikazana sinteza visokoefikasnih antikorozivnih premaza dobijenih iz alkidnih smola (AR) baziranih na proizvodima glikolize iz otpadnog poli(etilen tereftalata) (PET). Glikolizati PET-a dobijeni postupkom katalitičke depolimerizacije uz pomoć trimetilolpropana (TMP) i dipropilen glikola (DPG), su korišćeni kao zamena polihidroksilne komponente tokom sinteze AR smola. Sintetisani glikolizati i AR smole okarakterisane su primenom FT-IR i 1HNMR spektroskopije i određena im je vrednost kiselinskog, jodnog i hidroksilnog broja. Sintetisanim AR smolama, kao i antikorozionim alkidnim premazima određena su sledeća svojstva: debljina suvog filma, adhezivnost, bubrenje, korozivnost, prskanje i odslojavanje prema SRPS EN ISO standardima. Alkidne smole su dobijene u visokom prinosu i pokazale su dobra fizičko-mehanička svojstva, adhezivnost i sjaj premaza (≤85 %), dok su antikorozioni alkidni premazi na bazi AR1 i AR3 pokazali najbolje rezultate otpornosti na koroziju. Najefikasnija kombinacija katalizatora sušenja je 0.5 mas.% Ca, 0.03 mas.%, Co i 0.45 mas% Zr.
