AB - The possibility of the classical response rate engineering and the long-term deconditioning of the gas-filled surge arresters is considered in this paper. The obtained results are compared with the same results obtained with the gas-filled surge arrester with application of an alpha radioactive source. The work is of an experimental nature. Experiments were performed on the multipurpose gas-filled surge arrester model under well-controlled conditions. The measurement uncertainty of the experimental procedure was less than 8 %. The results were processed by statistical data processing software. To draw impulse characteristics, the law of constancy of surfaces below the impulse voltage in the volt-second area, was used.

AB - This work aims is to design, fabricate and test a gas surge arrester with optimum characteristics based on testing the influence of all parameters that affect the characteristics of gas surge arresters for the coordination of low voltage isolation. After extensive research on the surge arrester model and reviewing all available literature, a three-electrode prototype surge arrester was made. The prototype gas used was a mixture of 0.8 He + 0.2 SF6 and the working point was set to the right of Pashen's minimum. Examination of thus constructed prototype and three commercial surge arresters of the same nominal voltage has shown that the surge arrester model was better in every respect. It should be noted that using the developed model, gas arresters with radioactive charging can be discarded, which is important for environmental reasons. The obtained results are very important in power engineering since the operation and control of the operation of power circuits, which are the source of overvoltage which are performed by electronic circuits.

AB - This paper presents the study that would allow a revision of the currently valid diagnostic reference level in intraoral dental X-ray radiography in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The study was conducted for six procedures that are used to capture incisor, premolar and molar teeth, of both maxilla and mandible, in adults. Measurements were performed on 41 intraoral X-ray devices, 20 of which were systems with digital image receptor and 21 film-based X-ray systems. In this study, incident air kerma (K-i) and air kerma-area product (P-KA) were used as patient dose descriptors. The third quartile (Q(3)) of the measured incident air-kerma values was used to compare with the current national diagnostic reference level (DRL) for intraoral dental procedures. The obtained results of Q(3) for both types of devices, with film-based and digital image receptors, have shown that the third quartile values are lower (3.5 and 1.2 mGy, respectively) than the current national DRL (7.0 mGy). Hence, new data can be used to re-establish the diagnostic reference levels in intraoral dental X-ray examinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

AB - The aim of this paper is to consider and analyze design of capacitive voltage divider for measuring ultrafast voltage occurrence. Measuring pulse voltages by means of a capacitive divider in nanosecond range is affected by problems related to the construction of the divider and materials used. However, an appropriate constructive solution could minimize the budget of measuring uncertainty of the measurement pertaining to parasitic inductivity and capacitance. Consequently, the right selection of dielectric materials could offset the effects of high-voltage and low-voltage frequency characteristics of the capacitor. Four types of capacitive dividers have been constructed for the purpose of this paper. The high-voltage capacitor of each divider is a gas capacitor (intended to avoid both electrostatic and electrodynamic influence on measurement uncertainty). Ultrafast pulse response is measured by dividers constructed in this way, and compared with the corresponding response obtained from numerical simulations.
