AB - Having in mind that the energy is more and more expensive and that the natural energy resources are smaller and smaller, this research presents a contribution to the use of renewable thermoenergetic resources in terms of improving the economy and ecology in the pyrometallurgical copper production. Pyrometallurgical copper production is a big consumer of energy resources of all kinds. A large part of invested energy is used in the metallurgical process. The process products are holders of large energy amount that is lost uncontrollably in the environment, thereby affecting adversely the economic and environmental effects. The available heat energy of gas products and flying dust of fluosolid reactor, technically usable in the Power Plant, taking into account the "excess" of the process heat, has value 874.971 kJ/kg dry concentrate. Technically usable the heat flux for the reactor No. 1, is 9.79 MWh, and minimum heat flux is 5.319 MWh. In the sulphuric acid production, that uses the gaseous products of roasting and converting processes in Smelter, the low temperature secondary heating energy is realized in quantity of 1.348 MWth/t monohydrate ( or 336.8 kWth/(1000 m(3) n) gaseous products). For designed capacity of Sulphuric Acid Plant No. 2, that is in exploitation ( in farther text K-2) in Bor, the existing quantity of secondary ( waste) heating energy is 24.830 MWt. This paper presents the results of research the renewable thermoenergetic resources from metallurgical products. Using the comparative method, the consumption of energy resources is determined in the modem technological processes and standard pyrometallurgical process of copper production in Bor ( Serbia) and, based on the heat balance, the amount of the secondary energy is defined and the method of its evaluation is proposed.

In fact it is a resume of a study on the idea of e-scrap processing and metal production in Mining and Metalurgy Institute Bor, Serbia, based on its expert team investigations of the relevant literature and practice evidences and own research results. The investigations results are presented shortly in the First part of the paper where the chosen technological solution is described including the basic parameters for economic analysis. The second part of the paper is a resume of the economic analysis that approves benefits of the e-scrap processing and profitability of the metals production. Conclusion signifies the investigations and the study importance for realization of a project expected to generate important ecological and economical benefits.

AB - The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of temperature on the thickness, surface roughness, visual appearance and morphology of electrochemically deposited gold decorative coatings obtained from conventional cyanide electrolyte (AUROCIN DPB) and electrolyte based on mercaptotriazole (Au-MT). Heating of cyanide electrolyte does not significantly affect the thickness (b) of gold coatings (at 20 degrees C b = 0.08 mu m, at 30 degrees C b = 0.07 mu m and at 40 degrees C b = 0.08 mu m) and, for this reason, the decorative coating processes were carried out at room temperature. Temperature increase has a positive effect on thickness of decorative gold coatings obtained from electrolyte based on mercaptotriazole, but this effect is very small, so the heating of electrolyte is not recommended for this type of electrolyte (at 20 degrees C b = 0.08 mu m, at 40 degrees C b = 0.12 mu m and at 60 degrees C b = 0.13 mu m). The best coating roughness profiles are obtained at a temperature of 20 degrees C for both types of electrolyte. The morphology of gold deposits, obtained from both electrolytes, was studied using scanning electron microscopy.

AB - Recovery of gold and other valuable metals from electronic scrap involves a complex metallurgical flow sheet and requires state-of-the-art recovery technologies that are available in large-scale, integrated smelter and refinery operations. At the end of their use, electronic and other electrical product scrap offer an important recycling potential for the secondary supply of gold and silver into the market. With gold concentrations reaching 200-250 g/t for computer circuit boards, this scrap is an 'urban mine' that is significantly richer in gold than the sources of the primary ores today. This paper gives methods of gold and silver recovery from printed circular board. The methods of purification are given and they separate gold from the impurities (tin, copper and nickel). The obtained gold and silver have 99.99% quality.

AB - This paper presents the results of a new industrial use the ultrasonic spray for gas cooling from sulphide copper concentrate roasting in the fluo solid reactor and the results of wet gas treatment (washing) in the scrubber plant during treatment the secondary copper bearing raw materials in RTB Bor (Serbia). The use of a new ultrasonic nozzle for gas cooling from the fluo solid reactor resulted as a necessity because the efficiency of existing installed spray of foreign manufacture was very bad. The use of such spray has caused the formation of large deposits of wet dust on the walls of cooling tower, and their shaking caused the system blockage for dust transport of dust and stoppage the entire plant. Frequent blockage and inability of cleaning resulted into high consumption of nozzles. Construction of a new ultrasonic nozzle was based on the famous Hartman ultrasound generator and it is patented. The possibility of its dismantling (disassembly) has allowed a complete cleaning and reliable operation and the nozzles, currently used, are in a continuous operation over a decade. New ultrasonic spray has been also successfully applied in the scrubber plant for gas washing during the copper scrap treatment with high zinc content. Separation degree of ZnO in the scrubber from the process gas was 98.6%. The new design of ultrasonic spray and its successful use for cooling and cleaning the metallurgical gases will be applied in modernization the Copper Smelter in RTB Bor.

AB - This work presents the laboratory testing results of kinetics the oxidation process and sample processing of the sulphide polymetallic concentrate Blagojev Kamen. The aim of investigation is recovery of these types of raw material, present in large quantities in the peripheral parts of already used primary mineral deposits of copper, because of their high economic potential due to the content of a large number of metals and especially precious metals. Characterization of this raw material is based on the chemical analyses, XRD results, DTA analysis, etc. For these investigations, the sulphide concentrate with the following content was used in %: Cu -2.3; Fe - 19.8; S - 27.19; Zn - 9.13; As - 0.167; Pb - 15.63; SiO2 - 17.93; CaO - 0.97; Al2O3 - 1.43; Ag -480 g/t; Au - 659 g/t. Kinetic investigations of oxidation processes were carried out under the isothermal conditions within the temperature range of 400 to 625 degrees C. The Sharp's model was used for determination the kinetics parameters, and determined values of activation energy are 67 kJ/mole for the first period, and 47 kj/mole for the second period. Pyrometallurgical treatment of this type of polymetallic concentrate, in the laboratory conditions, was carried out using the oxidative roasting and, then the reduction smelting was done in the Taman's furnace. Gold from 90.5 to 97.95% and silver from 77.28 to 93.37% are moved into the raw lead (smelting product). Gold from 1.1 to 3.92% and silver from 4.35 to 8.42% are moved into the polymetallic copper matte. Gold from 0.58 to 1.6% and silver from 2.45 to 6.82% are moved into the slag.
