This study discusses the possibility of engineering the multifunctional nanocomposite textile material based on the polyester fabric modified with alginates and colloidal TiO2 nanoparticles. This material exhibited excellent antibacterial properties against Gram-negative bacterium E. coli, which were preserved after five washing cycles. The deposition of TiO2 nanoparticles onto polyester fabrics ensured maximum UV protection. TiO2 nanoparticles deposited onto the polyester fabric previously coated with alginates provided total photodegradation of methylene blue in aqueous solution after 24 hours of UV illumination.sr
