dc.description.abstractPhotocatalytic degradation of the methomyl pesticide in aqueous suspension of TiO2 using an Osram ultra-vitalux® lamp (315-400 nm) was investigated. The effect of parameters such as initial concentration of catalyst, initial methomyl concentration, and pH were studied. Complete removal of methomyl was achieved but mineralization of organic carbon was incomplete indicating the formation of methomyl degradation products. Liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry technique was used in order to identify the methomyl degradation products and three major degradation products have been identified.sr
