The application of radio-frequency capacitively coupled plasma for the treatment of wool was studied. The influence of plasma parameters on the printing and mechanical properties of wool was determined. Results after plasma treatment and after conventional chlorination were compared and the wetting and swelling properties as well as the whiteness of wool were determined. Plasma treatment improved wool hydrophilicity while mechanical properties somewhat worsened. Improved wetting and swelling properties lead to considerable increase in the color yield of wool prints.en
