Overview of the materials: Metals selection process

Abstract

Overview of the metal material selection process will be subject of this paper. Interrelationship among design, materials and processing will be presented. Materials selection for a new design as well as materials substitution for an existing design will be discussed. Performance characteristics of the basic groups of materials and their characteristics will be given., as well as the role played by material properties in the selection of materials. Standards and specifications will be also very important part of the process of selection of materials and will be given in the paper.

U okviru ovog rada biće izložen i osnovni koraci strategije izbora metalnih materijala. Biće data relacija izbor materijala i projektovanja. Biće razmatrana strategija izbora materijala za novi proizvod ili tehnologiju kao i za supstituciju postojećih materijala. U radu će biti razmatrano ponašanje materijala u radnim uslovima, kao i uloga osobina materijala u strategiji izbora materijala. Deo rada biće posvećen standardima i specifikacijama kao veoma važnog dela u strategiji izbora materijala.
