The kinetics of lead leaching from lead (II) sulphate in aqueous calcium chloride and magnesium chloride solutions was studied. The leaching rates of lead were measured by using an agitated vessel at atmospheric pressure, The effects of CaCl2 and MgCl2 concentration, temperature, stirrer velocity and leaching time on leaching rate were examined. It was established that lead leaching by calcium chloride and magnesium chloride solutions is a diffusion and chemically controlled reaction (mixed kinetics).
