Coherent optical fiber bundles production
Abstract
Optical fiber bundles are used in many fields of modern technology. Their production includes drawing of three layer optical fibers and sintering of the obtained fibers into a solid block. Mathematical models for two most important processes in stiff optical fiber bundles production are presented. Numerical solution for each of the models is given and compared to the experimental results. Both models showed good accordance with the experimental values. Models developed were used for better process understanding and process control design.
