The Laser Shock Peening (LSP) is applied to the surface of Nimonic 263 alloy. The changes in microstructure and surface topography are observed and analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), profilometer and microhardness tester. Various laser regimes are chosen which provoke effects of both mechanical and thermo-mechanical treatments of the sample surface. The optimal process parameters, that result in the finest microstructure, smooth and clean surface, are determined. Some wanted and unwanted phases leading to the crack formation are observed.en
