AB - Phase diagram of the ternary Au-Cu-Sb system was investigated experimentally by DTA and SEM-EDS methods and analytically by CALPHAD method. The liquids projection, invariant equilibrium, several vertical sections and isothermal section at 300 degrees C were predicted using COST 531 thermodynamic database. Phase transition temperatures of alloys along four predicted vertical sections of the Au-Cu-Sb ternary system with molar ratios Au:Cu = 1, Cu:Sb = 1, Au:Sb = 1 and x(Au) = 0.2 were measured by DTA (differential thermal analysis). Predicted isothermal section at 300 degrees C was compared with the results of the SEM (scanning electron microscope) with EDS (energy dispersive spectrometry) analysis from this work This Au-Cu-Sb system belongs to the group of gold alloys, as potential candidates for new lead-free solder materials.

AB - The presented work covers part of experimental results of simultaneous study of microstructure, density, hardness and electrical conductivity of sintered electrical contact materials based of Ag- SnO2 with 8, 10 and 12 mass% SnO2. The mentioned characteristics were analyzed in the function of different sintering regimes and after additional mechanical treatment (forging and rolling). The influence of small addition of In2O3 (2.9 mass%) on the increase of dispersion of main oxide SnO2 in Ag matrix is observed and presented also.

AB - The optical fiber magnetic sensing element (OFMSE) based on the optical fiber coated with composite coating polymer-magnetic powder has been already introduced in magnetic field sensing. In this research, the rapid quenched Nd-Fe-B powder with Nd rich content was used as magneto-active component in composite coating. Magnetic powder was dispersed in poly-(ethylene-co-vinyl-acetate) - EVA solution in toluene. The influence of magnetic powder content (20, 30, 40 and 50 mass %) in composite coating of multimode optical fiber on the thickness, hardness and uniformity was observed and discussed. Sensitivity and reversibility of the constructed OFMSE in the external magnetic field are illustrated.

AB - As a part of these experimental investigations of melt-spun Nd-Fe-B alloy with Nd rich content in relation to Nd2Fe14B prepared by rapid quenching process for optimally selected cooling rate and heat treatment, the influence of the chosen chemical composition on magnetic properties was observed. The results of X-ray diffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy phase analysis and magnetic measurement of investigated melt-spun Nd14.5Fe78.5B7 alloy are presented to bring some new information concerning the relation between their structure and magnetic properties.

AB - The purpose of this investigation was to establish the correlation between the sintering conditions (temperature and time) and the stability of the SmCo5 phase, expressed by the intensity of its most important diffraction peak. The sintering and heat treatment was performed under a vacuum of 150 Pa. Sintering was investigated in the temperature interval from 1100 to 1180 degrees C, for sintering times of 30, 45 and 60 min, while the temperature and duration of the heat treatment were kept constant. The content of the SmCo5 phase, as the carrier of the magnetic properties, was observed by X-ray diffraction analysis of the polycrystalline specimens. It was established that there is a dependence of the intensity of the diffraction peak, which corresponds to the (111) plane of the SmCo5 phase, on the sintering time and temperature. A regression model was obtained that showed the intensity of the diffraction peak to be dependent upon squares of both the sintering time and temperature.
