AB  - Today, there exist scientific evidences that functional foods have favorable physiological and psychological effects as well as additional functions in relation to health, apart from the basic nutritional effects, thus offering the potential of enhance health or reduced the risk of diseases. Since interest in this category of foods has increased, new products have appeared as well as the need to introduce and set up standards and guidelines for the development and promotion of such foods. Technological development in this area and involvement of great multinationals in research investment and development of new products have reinforced the importance of the intellectual property rights, especially of patent protections and trademarks.
AB  - Danas postoje naučni dokazi da funkcionalna hrana ima povoljne fiziološke i psihološke efekte, kao i to da ima dodatnu funkciju u odnosu na zdravlje, odvojeno od osnovnih nutritivnih efekata, i na taj način nudi mogućnost za poboljšanje zdravlja ili smanjenje rizika od bolesti. Kako je interes za ovu kategoriju hrane rastao, pojavili su se novi proizvodi, takođe se javila potreba za uvođenjem i razvojem standarda i vodiča za razvoj i promociju takve hrane. Tehnološki razvoj u ovoj oblasti i angažovanje velikih multinacionalnih kompanija na investiranju u istraživanje i razvoj novih proizvoda pojačali su značaj prava intelektualne svojine, naročito patentne zaštite i žigova.

AB  - Agricultural progress has been the most important factor which leads to humans' civilization. The world has progressed in such a rapid manner that traditional agriculture has aggressively been replaced by modern agricultural approaches and methods. Traditional knowledge and innovations relating to food and agriculture are widespread, viable and sustainable. The subject matter of protection traditional knowledge may include agricultural, environmental and knowledge associated with genetic resources. Protection of the traditional knowledge and results of the modern agriculture, under existing models of intellectual property rights could involve: copyrights, patents, plant varieties, trademarks, geographical indications and appellations of origin. While patents protect new and inventive products and processes, geographical indications protect traditional knowledge and skills associated with certain products which are typically passed down through generations, and have a strong link with the underlying geographical territory.
AB  - Poljoprivredni napredak je najvažniji faktor koji dovodi do snažnog razvoja civilizacije. Svet je napredovao na takav način da je tradicionalna poljoprivreda brzo i agresivno zamenjena modernim poljoprivrednim pristupom i metodama. Danas su tradicionalno znanje i inovacije, koji se odnose na hranu i poljoprivredu, rasprostranjeni, životni i održivi. Zaštita tradicionalnog znanja može da uključuje znanja iz oblasti poljoprivrede, životne sredine i genetičkih resursa. Zaštita tradicionalnog znanja i rezultata moderne poljoprivrede prema postojećim modelima prava intelektualne svojine može da obuhvata: autorska prava, patente, zaštitu sorti, žigove, geografske oznake porekla i oznake (imena) porekla.Dok patenti štite nove i inovativne proizvode i postupke, geografske oznake porekla štite tradicionalno znanje u odnosu na izvesne proizvode,koje je generacijama proveravano i tipično za određenu geografsku teritoriju. .

AB  - Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and Intangible Assets (IAs) can be highly valuable playing a key role in many fields of business, touching nearly all aspects of a company: products development, human capital, marketing and general management. IP is treated as an asset and a part of the company's portfolio and can be sold, licensed or used for debt finance. Valuation of IP is very important, especially to secure loans or finances for business.
AB  - Prava intelektualne svojine i nematerijalna dobra mogu biti veoma vredna i igrati ključnu ulogu u mnogim oblastima poslovnih aktivnosti i skoro svim aspektima kompanije: razvoja proizvoda, ljudskog kapitala, marketinga, opšteg menadžmenta. Intelektualna svojina se tretira kao dobro i deo portfolia kompanije i može biti prodata, licencirana ili korišćena za finansijske obaveze. Vrednovanje intelektualne svojine je veoma značajno, naročito za obezbeđenje zajmova ili finansiranje poslovnih aktivnosti.
