AB  - The paper analyses the corrosion behaviour of both naturally and artificially aged AA2024 aluminium alloy in NaCl solution in the presence of the corrosion inhibitor benzotriazole (BTA). The differences between these two aging tempers in terms of resistance to general corrosion are explained as well as the differences in terms of pit formation and pit growth. Based on the values of the polarisation resistance and the corrosion current density, the general corrosion resistance of the alloy is determined in the absence and in the presence of BTA. The resistance to pit formation and pit growth is determined on the basis of the polarisation measurements results. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed the expected differences in the appearance and size of the pits formed in naturally aged and artificially aged alloy. In the presence of the corrosion inhibitor BTA, for both aging tempers of the alloy, the corrosion resistance is significantly higher compared to the resistance in the solution without the inhibitor. The value of the polarisation resistance for both aging tempers increases over time. However, at the same time, the value of the constant phase element increases as well. An explanation for this phenomenon is provided. The calculated average value of the thickness of the adsorbed inhibitor layer on the surface of the aluminium alloy is in accordance with the inhibitor protective ability for both aging tempers. Thermal cycling behaviour of plasma sprayed nicr-al-co-y2o3 bond coat in thermal barrier coating system

AB  - The aim of this study was to investigate the thermal cycling behaviour of NiCr-Al-Co-Y2O3 bond coating in thermal barrier coating (TBC) system with ZrO2-MgO as a top coating. The coatings were deposited by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) on stainless steel X15Cr13 (EN 1.4024) substrate. The used composite powder NiCr-Al-Co-Y2O3 was mechanically cladded, and the steel substrates were preheated to 160-180 degrees C. The thermal cycling performance of the obtained bond coat and the effect of formed complex ceramic oxides of the Al2O3-Y2O3 system were tested by heating to 1200 degrees C and cooling in air to 160-180 degrees C. The number of performed thermal cycles was 7, 32 and 79. The quality of the obtained coating, as well as its thermal cycling behaviour, was assessed through the microstructural analysis, microhardness and tensile bond strength measurements, and change in chemical composition and microhardness. The obtained results showed that the steel substrate, bond coat oxidation and interdiffusion at bond coat/substrate interface have a significant influence on changes in chemical composition and microhardness of the bond coat. The correlation between oxidation behaviour of NiCr-Al-Co-Y2O3 bond coat and number of thermal cycles was also discussed.

Purification of waste water using ozonization

AB  - Due to the development of industry and population growth during the in recent years, there are problems with wastewater from production that needs to be addressed in an environmentally and economical way. All wastewaters from industry, no matter how they are created, contain harmful substances that may have some degree of toxicity, must be treated if their quality does not meet the legal requirements. The purpose of wastewater treatment is to remove harmful substances, thereby reducing its pollution level, and at the same time, it also has a certain economic and environmental effect. Therefore, wastewater treatment was carried out in this work by precipitation using calcium oxide to remove colloidal substances and heavy metals. Most pollutants are of organic origin and their removal will be carried in this work out using advanced oxidation processes using ozone, and ozone in combination with ultrasound to achieve water quality that complies with the law. The purification process will be optimized with respect to, method, time and amount of oxidizing agent applied. The degree of pollution of water by organic compounds will be determined on the basis of measurements of HPK, BOD and the concentration of heavy metals (lead, ferrum, chromium, copper, zinc, aluminum).
AB  - Usled razvoja industrije i rastom populacije tokom poslednjih godina javljaju se problemi u vezi sa otpadnim vodama iz proizvodnje koje je neophodno rešavati na ekološki i ekonomičan način. Sve otpadne vode iz postrojenja bez obzira kako su nastale sadrže štetne materije koje mogu da imaju i određen stepen toksičnih primesa, moraju se prečistiti ako njihov kvalitet ne odgovara zakonskim okvirima. Svrha tretmana otpadnih voda je uklanjanje štetnih materija čime se postiže smanjnje stepena njene zagađenosti, a istovremeno se ostvaruje i određen ekonomski i ekološki efekat, stoga je u ovom radu izvršeno prečišćavanje otpadne vode postupkom taloženja upotrebom kalcijum-oksida u cilju uklanjanja koloidnih materija i teških metala. Većina zagađujućih materija su organskog porekla i njihovo ukljanjanje vršiće se primenom naprednih oksidacionih procesa korišćenjem ozona i ozona u kombinaciji sa ultrazvukom u cilju postizanja kvaliteta vode koji odgovara zakonskoj regulativi. Proces prečišćavanja će se optimizovati u odnosu na tehnološki postupak, koncentraciju, vreme tretmana i količinu primenjenog oksidacionog sredstva. Stepen zagađenosti vode organskim jedinjenjima će se određivati na osnovu merenja HPK, BPK i koncentracije teških metala (olovo, gvožđe, hrom, bakar, cink, aluminijum).

Modified tannins for alkyd based anticorrosive coatings

AB  - The study of the synthesis of anticorrosive inhibitors, based on chemically modified tannins, and their use in alkyd based coatings to improve anticorrosive properties is presented in this work. Two methods of tannin modification were applied: direct method using ammonium hydroxide, ammonium hydroxide/ammonium chloride buffer or diethylenetriamine (DETA); and a two-step method including tannin modification with epichlorohydrin (ECH) in first step to produce epoxy modified tannin, ET, and further modification with heteroaromatic amines or linseed oil fatty acids (LFA) in second step. The obtained anticorrosive additives were characterized using ATR-FTIR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies and elemental analysis. Epoxy, amino, hydroxyl, acid and iodine values of the synthesized inhibitors were determined according to standard methods. The prepared alkyd coating with tannin inhibitors was tested according to standard SRPS EN ISO 4628 method. Anticorrosive coating containing modified tannin based additive showed increased anticorrosive properties, good adhesion and coverage comparing to the coating with zinc phosphate additive. The alkyd coating films based on ET-LFA and ET modified with 2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole showed best anticorrosive results.
AB  - U ovom radu prikazana je sinteza antikorozionih aditiva na bazi hemijski modifikovanog tanina i njihova primena u alkidnim premazima u cilju poboljšanja antikorozionih svojstava. Prikazane su dve metode modifikacije tanina: direktna modifikacija tanina primenom amonijum-hidroksida, amonijum-hidroksid/amonijum-hlorid pufera ili dietilentriamina (DETA); i dvostepena modifikacija tanina koja u prvom stupnju uključuje modifikaciju epihlorhidrinom sa ciljem da se dobije tannin sa epoksi terminiranim funkcionalnim grupama, ET, i modifikaciju ET tanina sa heteroaromatičnim aminima ili masnim kiselinama izolovanim iz lanenog ulja (LFA) u drugom stupnju. Sintetisani antikorozioni aditivi su okarakterisani primenom ATR-FTIR, 1H i 13C NMR spektroskopija, i elementalnom analizom. Sadržaj epoksi, amino, hidroksilnih i karboksilnih grupa i vrednost jodnog broja sintetisanih aditiva određen je prema standardnim metodama. AB  - The classic methods of cleaning old-fashioned textile museum objects with metallic yarns do not often yield expected results. The use of laser in the conservation of these objects plays an important role as a very efficient and ecologically friendly technique. Conservation and restoration of historical exhibits with metal-textile combinations is becoming ever more complex due to a huge variety of damaging factors. The paper presents the results of the corrosion laser cleaning effects on ethnographic textile with silver coated copper yarns from the holdings of the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, using Nd:YAG laser. The testing of the cleaning effects was performed by optical and scanning electron microscopy. The chemical analysis of yarns was done by the EDX and XRD analyses. The parameters for successful and safe cleaning of corrosion products on metallic yarns were determined.

AB  - The main aim of this paper is to present the results of the morphological and chemical changes on the surface of a ceramic sample irradiated by the Nd:YAG laser. The tested sample is a part of an aqueduct tile, originating from the archaeological site of Yazd, Iran. The laser irradiation effects were studied as a function of the number of laser pulses and laser fluences around and over the damage threshold. The obtained modifications were investigated because these are essential in laser cleaning of aqueduct ceramics. The Nd: YAG laser with a wavelength, lambda, of 1064 nm and full width at half maximum (FWHM) pulse, tau, of 150 ps has been used for the surface treatment. The ceramic surface morphology modifications, induced by laser, were characterized by a scanning electron microscope (SEM), while the composition was examined by energy-dispersive (EDX) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy. The results show that there are significant differences depending on the applied laser fluences and whether the surface is glazed or not.

AB  - In the present work, hydroxyapatite coatings (HACs) were deposited by using the high power laminar plasma spray process. Major objectives were: (i) to estimate effects of several deposition parameters on chemical, structural, and morphological properties of HACs and (ii) to evaluate effects of human proteins albumin and gamma globulin on the early stage of the biomineralization process on the surface of HACs in modified Kokubo solutions (simulated body fluids) in which the pH value was actively regulated using CO2.
AB  - U ovom radu je izvršeno nanošenje hidroksiapatitnih (HA) prevlaka primenom visokoenergetskog laminarnog plazma sprej postupka. AB  - Causes of failure of brass condenser tubes (CuZn28Sn1) in a thermal power plant in Serbia are analysed. Results of testing by Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) have indicated the presence of ammonia and nitrogen compounds on fracture surfaces and on the inner surface of the tubes. These compounds are specific agents that cause stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in brass. Analysis of fracture surfaces using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) has shown the brittle transgranular fracture due to the occurrence of SCC. The resistance of brass condenser tubes to other types of corrosion, such as erosion, general and selective corrosion (dezincification) is also considered. Some procedures are proposed to reduce the risk of SCC in the brass condenser tubes.

AB  - Analizirani su uzroci pojave loma kondenzatorskih cevi od mesinga CuZn28Sn1 u jednoj termoelektrani u Srbiji. Rezultati ispitivanja metodom Furijeove transformisane infracrvene spektroskopije (FTIR) ukazuju na prisustvo amonijačnih i azotnih jedinjenja na površini loma i na unutrašnjoj površini cevi. Ta jedinjenja su specifični agensi za pojavu naponske korozije mesinga. Analiza površine loma primenom skening elektronske mikroskopije (SEM) pokazala je prisustvo krtog transkistalnog loma nastalog usled pojave naponske korozije. Razmatrana je otpornost cevi od mesinga CuZn28Sn1 prema drugim vidovima koro- zije, kao što su eroziona, opšta i selektivna korozija (decin- kacija). Predloženi su postupci za smanjenje rizika od pojave naponske korozije u kondenzatorskim cevima.

Stress corrosion cracking resistance of aluminum alloy 7000 series after two-step aging

AB  - The effect of one-step and a new (short) two-step aging process on the resistance to stress corrosion cracking of an aluminum alloy 7000 series was investigated, using slow strain rate test and fracture mechanics method. The aging level in the tested alloy was evaluated by means of scanning electron microscopy and measurements of electrical resistivity. It was shown that the alloy after the new two-step aging is significantly more resistant to stress corrosion cracking. Values of tensile properties and fracture toughness are similar for both thermal states. Processes that take place at the crack tip have been considered. The effect of the testing solution temperature on the crack growth rate on the plateau was determined. Two values of the apparent activation energy were obtained. These values correspond to different processes that control crack growth rate on the plateau at higher and lower temperatures.
AB  - Ispitivan je uticaj jednostepenog i novog (kratkotrajnog) dvostepenog termičkog taloženja na otpornost prema naponskoj koroziji aluminijumske legure serije 7000, primenom metode male brzine deformacije i metode mehanike loma. Stepen starenja ispitivane legure je procenjen primenom skening elektronske mikroskopije i na osnovu merenja električne otpornosti. Pokazano je da je legura posle novog dvostepenog termičkog starenja znatno otpornija prema naponskoj koroziji. Vrednosti zateznih karakteristika i žilavosti loma su slične za oba termička stanja legure. Razmatrani su procesi koji se odvijaju na vrhu naponsko-korozione prsline. Određen je uticaj temperature rastvora za ispitivanje na brzinu rasta prsline na platou. Određene su dve vrednosti prividne energije aktivacije. abstract = "The effect of one-step and a new (short) two-step aging process on the resistance to stress corrosion cracking of an aluminum alloy 7000 series was investigated, using slow strain rate test and fracture mechanics method. The aging level in the tested alloy was evaluated by means of scanning electron microscopy and measurements of electrical resistivity. It was shown that the alloy after the new two-step aging is significantly more resistant to stress corrosion cracking. Values of tensile properties and fracture toughness are similar for both thermal states. Processes that take place at the crack tip have been considered. The effect of the testing solution temperature on the crack growth rate on the plateau was determined. Two values of the apparent activation energy were obtained. These values correspond to different processes that control crack growth rate on the plateau at higher and lower temperatures., Ispitivan je uticaj jednostepenog i novog (kratkotrajnog) dvostepenog termičkog taloženja na otpornost prema naponskoj koroziji aluminijumske legure serije 7000, primenom metode male brzine deformacije i metode mehanike loma. Stepen starenja ispitivane legure je procenjen primenom skening elektronske mikroskopije i na osnovu merenja električne otpornosti. Pokazano je da je legura posle novog dvostepenog termičkog starenja znatno otpornija prema naponskoj koroziji. Vrednosti zateznih karakteristika i žilavosti loma su slične za oba termička stanja legure. Razmatrani su procesi koji se odvijaju na vrhu naponsko-korozione prsline. Određen je uticaj temperature rastvora za ispitivanje na brzinu rasta prsline na platou. Određene su dve vrednosti prividne energije aktivacije. Ove vrednosti odgovaraju različitim procesima koji kontrolišu brzinu rasta prsline na platou, na visokim i niskim temperaturama.",

AB  - During the coal pulverizing, the working parts of the ventilation mill are being worn by the sand particles. For this reason, the working parts are usually protected with materials resistant to wear (hardfaced/thermal sprayed coatings). The aim of this study was to evaluate the tribological performance of four different types of coatings as candidates for wear protection of the mill's working parts. The coatings were produced by using the filler materials with the following nominal chemical composition: NiFeBSi-WC, NiCrBSiC, FeCrCTiSi, and FeCrNiCSiBMn, and by using the plasma arc welding and flame and electric arc spraying processes. The results showed that Ni-based coatings exhibited higher wear resistance than Fe-based coatings. The highest wear resistance showed coating produced by using the NiFeBSi-WC filler material and plasma transferred arc welding deposition process. The hardness was not the only characteristic that affected the wear resistance. In this context, the wear rate of NiFeBSi-WC coating was not in correlation with its hardness, in contrast to other coatings. The different wear performance of NiFeBSi-WC coating was attributed to the different type and morphological features of the reinforcing particles (WC).

AB  - This paper presents the results of 3D numerical flow simulation in the ventilation mill (VM) and air mixture channel (AMC) of Kostolac B power plant, where a centrifugal separator with adjustable blade angle is used. Numerical simulations of multiphase flow were performed using the Euler-Euler and the Euler-Lagrange approach of the ANSYS FLUENT software package. The geometry of the numerical model was almost identical to the VM and AMC of Kostolac B, except for the smallest details. An unstructured tetrahedral grid, consisted of almost three million cells, was generated. The main contribution of this paper is the original analysis of the influence of centrifugal separator (CFS) geometry modification on the coal powder distribution at the horizontal burners. The modification of the blade angle, blade shape, and vertical position of the separator and its effect on the coal powder distribution at the burners were analyzed and are published for the first time. Results of the numerical simulations were compared with the measurements and can be used in modifying the separator geometry and position to obtain optimal distribution of the pulverized coal at the burners. Application of these results, obtained by numerical methods, ensures significant savings in time and money, in the process of finding the optimal geometry of CFS.

AB  - This paper presents the results of the laser cleaning effects on textile samples with corroded metallic threads. In many museum collections, there are textile exhibits like uniforms, national costumes, flags and home textile, embroidered with metallic threads. Corrosion of metal threads is one of the most common problems that damage embroidered items. In the practice, the application of conventional cleaning methods rarely gives the expected results, and the implementation of laser technology was the next step for corrosion products cleaning. The Nd: YAG laser was used to clean the corrosion of embroidered items from a museum study collection. The effects on the laser irradiated zones were investigated by optical and SEM microscopy and the EDX analysis. The laser irradiation process parameters of the metal threads corrosion.
AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati čišćenja korozije na tekstilnim eksponatima sa metalnim nitima pomoću lasera. U mnogim muzejskim zbirkama nalaze se eksponati kao što su uniforme, narodne nošnje, zastave i kućni tekstil, ukrašeni vezom metalnim nitima. Korozija metalnih niti je jedan od najvećih problema, koji oštećuje vezene eksponate. U praksi, veoma često, klasične metode ne daju očekivane rezultate i primena lasera je sledeći korak čišćenja korozionih produkata. Nd- YAG laser je korišćen za čišćenje korozije vezenih eksponata iz muzejske, studijske zbirke. Efekti u zonama ozračenim laserom su ispitivani optičkim mikroskopom, SEMom i EDX analizom. Određeni su izabrani parametri za uspešno i bezbedno čišćenje korozije na metalnim nitima.

AB  - The paper describes structural changes in the welded joints, leading to the emergence of intergranular corrosion (IGC) during exploitation. The occurrence of intergranular corrosion in welded joints of austenitic, ferritic and duplex stainless steels and in welded joints of aluminium alloys and nickel alloys is analysed. Special attention was paid to austenitic stainless steels, due to their wide application in practice. In addition to sensitization in the weld heat-affected zone (HAZ), which results in degradation of the welded joint (“weld decay”), also considered is the sensitization that occurs close to the weld metal in the stabilized steel, which leads to a “knife line attack”. Considerable attention is devoted to describing the various procedures in order to prevent the sensitization of the welded joints.

AB  - This paper analysis the cause's dynamically loaded screws failure, using the structural analysis of mechanical properties and numerical simulation. The comparison with the new unbroken screws, which were not in use, has been done to determine the condition of the broken (dynamically loaded) ones. Analysis was performed, according to the following test methods and activities: non-destructive testing, visual inspection, radiographic testing, chemical analysis of screws sample materials, mechanical properties of screws' materials. Structure analysis of screws materials: Testing macrostructure (light optical microscope, SEM-EDS) examination of the microstructure (light optical microscope, SEM-EDS), fractographic examination. Numerical simulation of the stress state of the dynamically loaded screws was done in CATIA software package, and it was identical to the bolt loads, during service exploitation. The results between numerical simulation and structural analysis were quite coinciding - the difference is about 8-10%, which is pretty good for these types of experiments. Such an overlap, says that the stress value at the very screws is reliable and give us a true picture of loadings. Structural mechanical tests have shown a very pronounced effect of dynamic loads, that large shear stress shows also as a good agreement, where between the stresses, obtained by numerical simulation and structural mechanical testing. Analysing the results, obtained by numerical simulation and structural mechanical testing were performed with the redistribution of critical stresses, and proposal for the structure optimization. The comparative analysis methods have been provided the precise prediction of fracture appearance and made possible to define the preventive measures.

Numerical simulation of the stress state of the dynamically loaded screws was done in CATIA software package, and it was identical to the bolt loads, during service exploitation. The results between numerical simulation and structural analysis were quite coinciding - the difference is about 8-10%, which is pretty good for these types of experiments. Such an overlap, says that the stress value at the very screws is reliable and give us a true picture of loadings. Structural mechanical tests have shown a very pronounced effect of dynamic loads, that large shear stress shows also as a good agreement, where between the stresses, obtained by numerical simulation and structural mechanical testing. Analysing the results, obtained by numerical simulation and structural mechanical testing were performed with the redistribution of critical stresses, and proposal for the structure optimization. The comparative analysis methods have been provided the precise prediction of fracture appearance and made possible to define the preventive measures.",

A considerable attention has been given to the characteristics of 
the most important corrosion products formed on the steel surface. 
The formation of akaganite,  -FeOOH is a sign of active corrosion 
under a layer of corrosion products. The conditions that cause the 
formation and regeneration of hydrochloric and sulphuric acid du-
ring the exposure to the elements were analyzed. The most often 
applied methods of diagnostics and procedures of removing active 
corrosion anions (desalination) were described as well. The NaOH 
solution of certain pH values still has the most important applica-
tion for the desalination process. The procedures for cleaning the 
surface before the application of protective coatings and the appli-
cation of chemicals that transform rust into stable compounds we-
re discussed. As protective coatings, different types of organic co-
atings plated on well-prepared steel surfaces were used and so-
metimes special types of waxes as well. This paper presents the 
results of the tests of corrosion products taken from the exhibits of 
weapons and military equipment from the Military Museum in Bel-
grade.

AB  - U radu je analizirana pojava i metode ispitivanja interkristalne korozije (IKK) zavarenih spojeva austenitnih, feritnih i dupleks nerđajućih čelika, kao i zavarenih spojeva aluminijumskih legura i legura nikla. Posebna pažnja posvećena je austenitnim nerđajućim čelicima, s obzirom na njihovu široku primenu u praksi. Klasične metode ispitivanja u ključalim rastvorima kiselina još uvek imaju veliku primenu u praksi. Njihov najvažniji nedostatak je dugo vreme trajanja ispitivanja (do 240 h). Tabelarno su prikazane osnovne karakteristike tih metoda, navedeni metali i legure na koje se metode mogu primeniti, faze u zavarenom spoju na koje deluje rastvor, temperatura i vreme trajanja ispitivanja. Posebna pažnja posvećena je elektrohemijskim metodama za ispitivanje IKK. Ove metode se u novije vreme sve više primenjuju, s obzirom na kvantitativni karakter dobijenih rezultata kao i kratko vreme ispitivanja (od nekoliko minuta do jednog sata).

AB  - The variation of factors such as the amount of alloying elements in solid solution, thermal and
thermo-mechanical treatments changes the corrosion tendency in the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy. The measurements of
electrical conductivity enabled the estimation of the structural state of the alloy, i.e. the type and the degree of
precipitation.The corrosion behaviour was examined through three electrochemical methods(Ecorr., polarization
measurements, EIS).The measurement of corrosion potentials (Ecorr.) gave information about the distribution of
the alloying elements between the solid solution and the precipitation phases. The polarization measurements
have shown a more positive value of pitting potential (Epit.) and a greater resistance to corrosionfor the two-step
aged alloy. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) has also shown that the two-step aged alloy has
better corrosion propertiescompared to the one-step aged alloy.The fracture mechanics (FM) method wasused for
SCC testing and hasshown that the alloy after two-step precipitation hardening is significantly more resistant to
SCC. The obtained results enable a greaterinsight into the effects of both heat treatment and alloying elements,
primarily copper, on the corrosion resistance of the alloy.

AB  - Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) was tested in a high strength 7000 series aluminium alloy applied for
weapons and military equipment. The effect of one step- and two-step precipitation hardening (aging) on SCC was
investigated. The slow strain rate test (SSRT) and the fracture mechanics (FM) method were used for SCC testing. The
measurements of electrical resistivity allowed evaluating an aging degree in the tested alloy. Both testing methods have
shown that the alloy after two-step precipitation hardening is significantly more resistant to SCC. The critical stress
intensity factor for SCC, KISCC is significantly higher, and the crack growth rate on the plateau, vpl is more than one
order of magnitude lower for the alloy in this state. Processes that take place at the crack tip are proposed and the
effect of copper was analyzed. The effect of the testing solution (NaCl) temperature on the vpl was determined. Two
values of the apparent activation energy, Ea, were obtained; one value (46.6 kJ mol-1) refers to higher temperatures,
while the other (70.4 kJ mol-1) refers to lower test temperatures. These values of Ea correspond to the different
processes that control the vpl, at higher and lower temperatures.

shown that the alloy after two-step precipitation hardening is significantly more resistant to SCC. The critical stress
intensity factor for SCC, KISCC is significantly higher, and the crack growth rate on the plateau, vpl is more than one
order of magnitude lower for the alloy in this state. Processes that take place at the crack tip are proposed and the
effect of copper was analyzed. The effect of the testing solution (NaCl) temperature on the vpl was determined. Two
values of the apparent activation energy, Ea, were obtained; one value (46.6 kJ mol-1) refers to higher temperatures,
while the other (70.4 kJ mol-1) refers to lower test temperatures. These values of Ea correspond to the different
processes that control the vpl, at higher and lower temperatures.",

AB  - Abstract: The corrosion tendency in the 7000 series aluminium alloys changes depending on the content of alloying
elements, thermal and thermo-mechanical treatments, etc. An alloy of this type applied in the production of weapons
and military equipment has been investigated by applying different electrochemical methods. A degree of the
precipitation hardening (aging) of the alloy has been evaluated by measuring its electrical resistivity. The corrosion
potential measurements (Ecorr.) gave information about the distribution of the alloying elements between the solid
solution and the precipitation phases. The polarization measurements, performed in the 0.5 M NaCl solution, have
shown a more positive value of the pitting potential (Epit.) and a greater corrosion resistance for the two-step aged
alloy. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) has also shown that the two-step aged alloy has better
corrosion properties (a higher value of polarization resistance, Rp, and a lower value of capacitance, Cdl) comparing to
the one-step aged alloy. These results enable a deeper insight into the effects of both heat treatment and alloying
elements, primarily copper, on the corrosion resistance of the tested alloy.

AB  - The degree of preservation of iron artifacts depends on the type of underground environment and the type of corrosion products formed on their surface. This paper analyses the conditions of an archaeological find made of iron and originating from the Roman period and belonging to the collections of the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade. The radiographic method has been used to determine the quantity of non-corroded metal as well as to determine the presence of cracks and other defects in the artefact. The composition of the corrosion products has been analyzed by the X-ray diffraction method (XRD). In addition to iron corrosion products (goethite α-FeO(OH) and magnetite Fe3O4), the presence of a significant quantity of akaganeite β-Fe8O8(OH)8Cl1.35, has been noticed on the artifact. The content of chloride, sulphate and other ions in the corrosion products has been determined by ion chromatography (IC). The analyses have pointed to the necessity of having artifacts treated in adequate solutions immediately after their excavation in order to eliminate chloride and sulphate anions. The aim of this paper is to determine the type of corrosion products and their influence on the corrosion behavior of an archaeological artefact.
AB  - Koroziona postojanost eksponata od gvožđa zavisi od tipa podzemne sredine i vrste korozionih produkata koji se formiraju na njegovoj površini. Ovaj rad analizira stanje arheološkog predmeta koji potiče iz rimskog perioda i koji pripada kolekciji Muzeja za nauku i tehniku u Beogradu. Radiografska metoda je korišćena za određivanje količine nekorodiralog metala, kao i prisustva prslina i drugih defekata u eksponatu. Sastav korozionih produkata je analiziran difrakcijom X-zraka (XRD). Pored korozionih produkata gvožđa (getita α-FeO(OH)I magnetita Fe3O4), uočena je značajna količina akagenita β-Fe8O8(OH)8Cl1.35 u sloju korozionih produkata. Metodom jonske hromatografije (IC) je određen sadržaj hloridnih, sulfatnih i drugih jona u korozionim produktima. Pomenute analize su ukazale na neophodnost tretmana arheološkog predmeta u odgovarajućem rastvoru za desalinaciju, neposredno posle iskopavanja, u cilju uklanjanja hloridnih i sulfatnih anjona. Cilj ovog rada je određivanje tipa korozionih produkata i njihovog uticaja na koroziono ponašanje arheološkog predmeta.

AB  - This paper analyzes the state of the French Cannon 75/27 model 1911. Déport made of steel. The amount of non-corroded materials, the presence of cracks and other defects in the cannon were determined by the radiographic method. The composition of corrosion products were analyzed using diffraction of X-rays (XRD method). In addition to goethite α-FeO(OH), lepidocrocite γ-FeO(OH) and magnetite Fe3O4, the presence of akaganeite was observed in the corrosion products, β-Fe8O8(OH)8Cl1.35 which indicates the accelerated corrosion of the base metal. With the ion chromatography method, the content of chloride, sulphate and other ions in corrosion products were examined. On the basis of conducted experiments, it can be concluded that it is necessary to treat the cannon in appropriate solutions, as quickly as possible, to remove chloride and sulphate ions.
AB  - U ovom radu analizirano je stanje francuskog topa 75/27 model 1911 Déport izrađenog od čelika. Za određivanje količine nekorodiralog materijala, prisustva prslina i drugih defekata u eksponatu korišćena je radiografska metoda. Sastav korozionih produkata je analiziran metodom difrakcije rendgenskih zraka (XRD). Pored getita, α-FeO(OH), lepidokrokita, γ-FeO(OH) i magnetita, Fe3O4, na eksponatima je uočeno prisustvo akaganita koje ukazuje na aktivnu koroziju osnovnog metala. Metodom jonske hromatografije je određen sadržaj hloridnih i drugih anjona u korozionim produktima. Na osnovu izvedenih eksperimenata nameće se zaključak o neophodnosti tretmana topa u odgovarajućim rastvorima što je moguće pre u cilju uklanjanja hloridnih i drugih koroziono aktivnih jona.
